After saying goodbye to her character Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries, actress Nina Dobrev has been hard at work on her film career.
The actress sort of did confirm she would return to the show for the series finale. Now that the final season is upon us, we’ve been wondering – is Nina is actually sticking to her word?
While discussing the final season of TVD at Comic-Con last weekend, showrunner Julie Plec told TVLine in an interview “not to put too much pressure or anything Nina Dobrev, but a promise was made, an emotional promise that I’d like to see come to life.”
She continued saying, “There's been friendship promises made, and now we’ll see if we can deliver on them.”
The cast agreed with the sentiment, and Zach Roerig, who plays Matt on the show, said, "We'd love to have her back. This show wouldn’t be what it is without her.”
Looks like it may come down to a matter of scheduling. We’ve got our fingers crossed that Nina will find a way to come back at some point for the final season. We can’t imagine saying goodbye to the show without seeing Elena at least one more time.
Do you guys think Nina will appear in the upcoming final season of the show? Sound off in the comments.
