Later this month I'll be hitting the road for my first tour as a solo artist. I couldn't be more stoked about it. The tour is a Midwest run of dates featuring Jamestown Story, Kieren Smith, and myself. It's been almost five months since I was last out on the road. For this week's blog I thought I'd talk about some of the things I'll do while preparing.
A lot of thought goes into the process of getting ready for a tour. I need to pick out what songs I'm gonna be playing (aka a setlist), practice the heck out of them, what clothes I want to stuff into my suitcase and bring along, decide what merchandise I want to have available, and different designs for t-shirts, bracelets, dog tags, and get bins for all of it. I also have to make sure I have enough strings for my guitar and picks to play the guitar with.
For this tour I'll be traveling in my car which I named Pete haha. He's a trooper, let me tell you. Anyway, I have to make sure my car is in tip top shape so I can make it to each show. Get an oil change, check the tire pressure and so on. Then finally once it's time to leave for tour, I pack my things into good 'ol Pete and I'm off. For me, there's nothing more exciting than this process. I love every second of it and once you're on stage playing all the work was worth it. Hope to see you soon! Thanks for checking out my blog and have the raddest weekend ever!
