Avant-garde, snow white sock boots are all the rage RN...
Detachable jeans (otherwise known as ‘jorts’), IKEA’s big style debut (see Balenciaga and BYREDO for further details) and vinyl in every possible shade. It's fair to say this season has seen no shortage of unexpected fashion twists and turns among the street style set.
Ever the sartorial rebel, Kendall Jenner’s favored shoe this season are neither sandals nor suede mules but rather...white ankle sock boots. Yes, really.
Sure, a pair she wore recently are Balenciaga beauties but the supermodel has long been a fan of Kurt Geiger’s cult white leather ‘Strut’ boots. For minimalist, off-duty chic she tends to pair hers with denim cut-offs, a plain white tee and yellow lens aviators (yep, daffodil specs are enjoying a rather colorful comeback too).
Fellow Insta-darlings have also followed suit. Selena Gomez last week styled her Stuart Weitzman’s Clinger Booties in bright white patent leather with a vest top and high-waisted linen trousers. Bella Hadid prefers a coordinating style a la Clueless, while her sister Gigi paired the unexpectedly versatile footwear with some striped trousers and a cropped tee for a more relaxed day look.
For the fashion brave? Monochromatic is magic (all-white everything was a winner on SS17 catwalk and is more wearable than you think – you’re not treading on '60s pastiche/Baby Spice territory here, don’t worry). But for a softer take on the trend we’re also a fan of Swedish label Vagabond’s super comfy, low cut ankle boots with a sculpted heel.
Time to put away the Birkenstocks for another day? Apparently so.
