Congratulations are in order for Bella Thorne! On Monday, November 4, Deadline reported that the 22-year-old would be making her feature film directorial debut with the currently unnamed “elevated thriller” written by Zander Coté.

Just after the announcement, the Shake It Up star took to social media and shared the news with fans and followers. “I’m so hyped to work with this team!” she wrote on Twitter. “First feature directorial debut! Crazy I’m doing this at only 22 years old! So happy!!!”

On Instagram, she posted screenshots of the article and penned a heartfelt caption showing off her excitement for the sure-to-be amazing project.

“Couldn’t. Be. Happier. first feature directorial debut,” she wrote. “So excited to work with this team on our secret thriller project.”

One of the movie’s producers, David Bernon of Burn Later Productions, also made a statement about looking forward to working with the star.

“We are thrilled to partner with Bella on her feature directing debut,” he said. “She’s about to leave an indelible mark on the genre, and we can’t wait for audiences to discover her bold vision.”

That’s not all! Other than directing the film, Bella is also expected to have a supporting role in the movie. Details have been kept tightly under wraps, but the cast and crew is set to start filming in the summer of 2020. Hopefully, more information will be released soon!

Bella’s directorial debut announcement came just days after she was dragged by fans on social media who claimed she glamorized domestic abuse with her “insensitive” Halloween costume. For those who missed it, the actress took to Instagram and showed off a makeup look which included a bruise around her eye and a bloody lip, along with the caption, “Hire me for your Halloween makeup I got u boo.”
