Is the year 2008 or 2020 — that seems to be the question on everyone’s minds after the Jonas Brothers recreated an epic scene from Camp Rock. That’s right, Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas uploaded a video of themselves acting like their old characters — Shane, Nate and Jason Gray — on Tuesday, January 21, and everyone is living for it. They even pulled out their old clothes and got wigs so they could look like their throwback selves, and it’s seriously bringing on a major wave of nostalgia.
“I don’t wanna waste my summer at some camp! I’m Shane Gray for crying out loud!” Joe said in the hilarious video, reciting his old line from the Disney Channel movie.
“Hey man, we used to love this place! Three years ago, we were campers!” Nick responded.
“This is where Connect 3… connected,” Kevin added.
Wow, talk about a blast from the past! Want to know the best part? Disney+’s official Instagram left a pretty epic comment underneath the video. “Connect 3 *NEEDS* to reconnect,” they wrote, sending the internet into a frenzy.
Yes, please! For those who forgot, the movie premiered in June 2008, and it also starred Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, Meaghan Martin, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle and more. It was all about a stuck up rock star named Shane who was forced to volunteer at a sleep away camp. But when he overheard a mystery girl singing and instantly felt a connection to her, he set out on a mission to try to find her. The mystery girl ended up being Mitchie Torres, an aspiring singer and songwriter who was trying to hide the fact that she can only afford to attend the camp because her mom worked in the kitchen.
Joe also uploaded another video of himself acting like Shane a few hours later. “I’m done with this s**t,” he said in the clip, before putting his hand up to the camera. “No! No paparazzi!”
