Ever since Disney announced that they’re making a Lizzie McGuire reboot, there’s been one major question on fans’ minds. And that is — who from the original cast will return for the new show? Well, there’s one star that J-14 can confirm won’t be making an appearance, and that’s Alex Borstein.

Yep, the actress sho played Miss Ungermeyer in The Lizzie McGuire Movie just broke the news to Life & Style that fans shouldn’t expect the hilariously strict teacher to star in the reboot.

“You know, I can’t imagine how it would make any kind of sense. If the show is about her as an adult, why a chaperone from her childhood trip would have kept in touch?” she told the outlet during The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 premiere on Tuesday, December 3. “I don’t know. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

But the 48-year-old is definitely open to it if the opportunity does present itself!

“But, if there was something that made sense and was interesting and it offered up an opportunity that is something I’ve never done before, then yes sure! I’d entertain it,” she added.

The Family Guy star also admitted that she hadn’t talked to Hilary Duff in more than two years.

“I have not,” she confessed when they asked if she had kept in touch with her costar. “I saw her once. The last time I saw her was like at some photoshoot … some magazine, like, got us all together on a lawn, and they were like here’s a photoshoot with the supporting actors. So that’s like the last time I think I saw her, probably two years ago.”

For those who missed it, Disney announced back in August that they were bringing the epic series back, and it was the best news ever. Hilary, Adam Lamberg, Jake Thomas, Hallie Todd and Robert Carradine are all also set to reprise their roles as Lizzie, Gordo, Matt, Jo and Sam. The show, which will air on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, will follow Lizzie in her 30s, as she is living in New York and working as an apprentice to an interior designer.
