It’s over, you guys. Three weeks after Amanda Bynes announced that she was engaged to Paul Michael, the pair has ended their relationship.
“We did [breakup],” Paul confirmed to In Touch on Sunday, March 8. “I love her though, she’s my best friend.”
Rumors first started swirling that the couple had decided to go their separate ways after fans noticed that The Amanda Show alum had taken down all her photos with Paul from Instagram. For those who missed it, the actress first announced that she was engaged to him on February 14, 2020.
“Engaged to tha love of my life,” she wrote at the time, in a now deleted Instagram post.
The 33-year-old then formally introduced her new man to her followers in a video posted to Instagram on February 20, 2020.
“Hey, everyone, this is Paul, my fiancé,” she explained in the clip. “I’m so lucky. As you can see, he’s drop-dead gorgeous. He’s also the best person on the face of the Earth.”
So who was the man that the former Nickelodeon star was gearing up to walk down the aisle with? Well, according to The Blast, her ex is a student from Los Angeles. It’s also been reported that the former couple met while they were both in rehab, and that they were only been together for a few months before getting engaged.
Amanda first rose to fame back in 1996 when she starred in the hilarious sketch show called All That. She was so popular that she even landed her own spinoff series on Nickelodeon called The Amanda Show. After that ended, the actress went on to star in films such as What a Girl Wants, She’s the Man, What I Like About You, Easy A, Hairspray and more! She also lent her voice to the cartoon Rugrats and the animated movie Robots, and get this — she even started her own fashion line in 2007, called Dear, which unfortunately got shut down one year later.
But after she announced she was taking an indefinite hiatus from acting in 2010, she went through a rough period. She dabbled with drugs and alcohol and was arrested twice. But in 2018, Amanda revealed that she she had been sober for four years with the help of her parents. She even received her Associate’s degree in Merchandise Product Development from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
As for her love life, Amanda has previously been linked to Kid Cudi, Seth MacFarlane, Chris Carmack, Nick Zano, Frankie Muniz, Taran Killam and Drake Bell.
