SYMPTOMS // 5.3.19

As J-14 readers know, Ashley hasn’t released an album since Guilty Pleasure in 2009, so fans have waited a long time for Symptoms. And after hearing Voices In My Head — the first single from the new album — back in November, it made us all even more excited. Thankfully, the wait is almost over – and we couldn’t be more excited!

Back in January, the former Disney star explained how making the new album helped her get past her anxiety and depression.

“It was just super personal,” she told Life & Style Magazine. “I mean basically, it was a different experience this time compared to my last couple albums. In the past, I sang other people’s songs and didn’t really know who I was as an artist, and when I was getting back in the studio, I was going through a lot of anxiety and I had a bit of depression.”

But although she went through a rough patch, the singer came out of it much stronger.

“It’s weird because the album became my journey going through that and coming out of it. It really reflects my journey,” she continued. “It starts from the beginning and the end is coming out of it all and surviving it, I guess.”

Wow, we just got chills. We cannot wait to hear all about her journey through her music.
