Ever since they starred in High School Musical together, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens have been best friends. And now, over 13 years since the first flick came out, they’re still just as close, and we’re seriously living for their relationship! But wait, did you know that the ladies were actually friends long before they appeared in the Disney Channel Original Movie together? Yep, Ashley just revealed that she and Vanessa actually first met on set of a commercial one whole year before they were cast in the film! Wow, who knew?!
“We actually worked together a year before in a Sears commercial, and from that day on we were super close,” the 34-year-old “Symptoms” singer told Us Weekly. “So people don’t really — I think some people know that, but they think it was that movie that brought us together and it really wasn’t.”
As fans know, not only did the ladies act in three HSM movies together, but Vanessa also appeared in a few episodes of Ashley’s series Suite Life of Zack and Cody back in the day. And the fact that they’ve remained BFFs after all these years is seriously so magical.
“We just have a connection and she’s so awesome and one of my best friends,” Ashley added. “What I love about her is that she’s so talented, and I think what we share is that we’re really grounded people and I think that that’s important, especially with what we do, is to stay grounded.”
It’s clear that their bond can withstand anything. Back in 2017, Vanessa opened up about their relationship to Women’s Health.
“She’s one of those girlfriends who will be my friend forever,” the 30-year-old Princess Switch actress gushed.
Despite their busy schedules, the two stars always find time to hang out. And every time they do, it seriously brings on all the feels! Most recently, they reunited at Pretty Little Liars star Brant Daugherty‘s wedding, and it was everything.
“We are like the ultimate duo. We have a very genuine friendship and you don’t see that,” Ashley also told TooFab in May 2019.
Yeah, we’re all striving to find a friendship like theirs.
