Get ready, people, because one of Hollywood’s biggest stars is joining the cast of Broadway’s Mean Girls! Yep, Cameron Dallas was just cast as the infamous Aaron Samuels in the play, and fans could not be more excited.
“Cameron is a tremendously talented young performer,” the show producers said in a statement to Deadline. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the cast of Mean Girls and know he will be as captivating on stage as he is on screens all over the world.”
As fans know, Kyle Selig normally stars as the jock fans know and love. But he recently announced that he was taking a leave of absence. Cameron will make his Broadway debut on January 14, 2020, and will play the character for four weeks at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City.
The social media star first rose to fame for his six second videos on Vine. He went on to star in numerous fashion campaigns for Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabanna and more, and he even landed his own documentary series for Netflix called Chasing Cameron back in 2016! In 2018, he released his debut single, “Why Haven’t I Met You?,” so he’s definitely accomplished a lot since his Vine days oh-so-many years ago.
For those who haven’t seen it just yet, Mean Girls is a musical adaption of the movie. The flick, which came out back in 2004 and was an instant classic, starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Bennett, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese and more. The cast of the Broadway play also includes Erika Henningsen as Cady Heron, Reneé Rapp as Regina George, Krystina Alabado as Gretchen Wieners, Kate Rockwell as Karen Smith, Barrett Wilbert Weed as Janis Sarkisian, Grey Henson as Damian Hubbard, Catherine Brunell as Mrs. Heron/Ms. Norbury/Mrs. George, Cheech Manohar as Kevin Gnapoor and Rick Younger as Mr. Duvall.
