Filming for the movie adaptation of the Broadway play Cats is officially underway and Taylor Swift has just given us the first look. That’s right, in case you missed the memo, it was announced that the “Look What You Made Me Do” songstress had joined the cast back in July of 2018, and we couldn’t help but freak out over the idea of our favorite singer dressed up like a feline.

Although the 28-year-old didn’t reveal any of her outfits yet, she did finally let us know who she’ll be playing in the movie! Taylor will star as Bombalurina — the extremely flirtatious cat that loves to be the center of attention. Previously, the writer of the play, Andrew Lloyd Webber, told Vulture that he wasn’t sure what role he was going to give the blonde beauty.

“Meow,” Taylor captioned a snap of herself in front of her trailer. She also took to her Instagram story to give us a little peak of the set. “So I’m on set for Cats, and it is fully snowing,” she said excitedly.

The role is honestly perfect for Taylor, who J-14 readers know loves cats. She’s even got two of her own — Olivia and Meredith — that she constantly posts about, so it’s only natural that she was cast in the movie. We mean, was she chosen for this role or did the role choose her?

“Well, basically, Tom Hooper [the director] thought it was a really good idea, and of course, she loves cats,” Andrew told New York Magazine last year about why they had decided to cast Taylor in the movie. “We’ll see. I mean, I haven’t met her, so I’m looking forward to meeting her and seeing her [at work].”

Jennifer HudsonJames Corden, Jason DeruloRebel Wilson and Ian McKellen have also been cast for the film, so yeah, it’s definitely going to be epic. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait a while to see the final product since it’s not set to hit theaters until December 20, 2019. But we’re praying that the 28-year-old will share a few more pics from the set!
