Dove Cameron has been cast as the leading lady in Clueless: The Musical, which is opening on Nov. 20, 2018, and we are totally freaking out. But what does the OG Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone think about the Disney star taking over her role as Cher? She caught up with E! News on the red carpet of Glamour’s Women Of The Year Awards on Monday night where she spilled all the tea… And it turns out she couldn’t be happier!

“She’s fantastic,” Alicia gushed about Dove, 22.

She went on to explain how she’s actually super familiar with the Disney star’s work. As J-14 readers know, Dove has done a lot of acting before Clueless: The Musical. A few examples being the Descendants movies, ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and her two roles (that’s right, she played twins!) in Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie that won her a 2018 Daytime Emmy.

“I know that movie too because I have a son,” Alicia explained, referencing Descendants. “Yeah, she’s great. He loves her.”

The actress’ 7-year-old son Bear Blu Jareck, isn’t just a fan of Dove’s acting. He’s also a fan of her singing, Alicia revealed. She told a hilarious story about a time when she and Bear paid a visit to her BFF Christian Siriano, who accompanied her on the red carpet, and the toddler requested to hear Dove’s song from Descendants, “If Only.”

“I think we were having a dance party at your house recently and Bear asked for that song and Christian didn’t have that song,” Alicia told the outlet. Laughing, Christian responded, “Sorry!”

But Alicia isn’t the only OG Clueless star giving Dove their seal of approval. Actor Paul Rudd, who played Josh in the original movie, told Yahoo recently that he “would like to” see the play, adding that his daughter “is a big Dove Cameron fan.”

Dove totally freaked over Paul’s comment, so we can only imagine how she’s going to react over Alicia’s!

“This Paul Rudd interview was just sent to me & i don’t know what to do w myself?” she wrote Instagram. “One of the strangest & most surreal moments of my whole life ?? if 3/5/10/13/16 year old me could see this right now ???? Please someone freak out w me Paul Rudd I love you.”

Dove has been rehearsing non-stop in anticipation of the big opening next week, and she’s shared a few behind-the-scenes pics along the way.

We cannot wait to see Dove and the rest of the cast kick butt in Clueless: The Musical.
