Dove Cameron just landed a very exciting new gig, and we couldn’t be more excited! The 22-year-old actress, who won a 2018 Daytime Emmy for her work on Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie, will be the lead in the upcoming Off Broadway production of Clueless: The Musical. While the musical was announced back in June, casting had been under wraps for quite some time.

The Descendants darling will play the leading role of Cher, Deadline reports. Back in ’95, the legendary role made actress Alicia Silverstone a total icon – and it is safe to say Dove is the perfect gal to take on the musical version of this character. Dove took to Twitter to announce the news, and there is no doubt she is beyond pumped to rock Cher’s iconic yellow plaid ensemble.

She wrote, “life is about to get very yellow and very plaid and i am #totallybuggin.”

And now, girl is hard at work, gearing up to take the stage.

She’s fully in New York City in the midst of rehearsing to make her big debut.

Dove is no stranger to musicals, though. Aside from singing her way through her Disney show, Liv and Maddie, she is also best known for playing Mal in the Disney movie-musical franchise, Descendants. While the third installment doesn’t premiere until 2019, a TV short, Under the Sea: A Descendants Story, premiered last month. The actress also starred alongside Ariana Grande in the TV movie, Hairspray Live! Dove played the role of  Amber Von Tussle and totally slayed.

The show will run at the Pershing Square Signature Theater in New York City for a limited time, beginning on Nov. 20 and through Jan. 13 and we have a feeling her Descendants 2 co-star and IRL boyfriend Thomas Doherty will be attending a few shows. He took to Twitter to let the world know just how proud he is of his girl.

Just precious.
