Get ready, witches and wizards, because Daniel Radcliffe has returned to the world of Harry Potter, almost 20 years after he starred in the movie! That’s right, the actor, who played the famous boy who lived in all eight of the magical films, just sat down and read the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to fans, and boy, was it epic.
For those who missed it, each week, J.K. Rowling‘s “Harry Potter at Home” website will be uploading videos of various celebrities reading chapters from the iconic book series. And on Tuesday, May 5, they shared the first segment — which contained the one and only Harry Potter himself reading the first chapter aloud.
Wow, hearing him read the book is seriously bringing on a major wave of nostalgia! Other stars participating in the fun event include David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Eddie Redmayne and more. As fans know, “Harry Potter at Home” launched last month, as a way to “keep children amused and interested while we’re on lockdown,” according to the author herself.

The magical site promises to bring “Hogwarts to you” with “interactive craft videos, fun articles, quizzes, puzzles and plenty more for first-time readers, as well as those already familiar with the wizarding world.”
Experienced wizards and witches can test their knowledge on the series by taking fun quizzes, while muggles (non-magic folk) can pass the time by learning about the wizarding world through the site’s complete glossary of terms! Fans can even take a guided tour through Hogwarts or learn how to draw some of the series’ most famous magical items and creatures. Wow, this is seriously a dream come true.
The site also offers a chance for visitors to enroll in a virtual version of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry — that’s right, you can actually take Hogwarts classes while stuck at home! There are seven different classes that are available, including Astronomy, Charms, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions, Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Just like Harry, Ron and Hermione, you will have to complete assignments and take tests, which could earn you house points. Well, we know what we’ll be doing for the next few weeks!
