It looks like there are no hard feelings between Demi Lovato and her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama! Yep, the singer just opened up about where they stand now — more then three years after their split — and she admitted that although they are not in contact anymore, she has nothing but love for him.
For those who missed it, Wilmer announced that he was engaged to his new girlfriend, Amanda Pacheco, on January 1, 2020.
“I’m really happy for him and I wish him nothing but the best,” Demi told Harper’s Bazaar. “But we’re not in each other’s lives, haven’t spoken in a long time. I think I needed that because I needed to learn to be okay on my own. When you get into a relationship with somebody at that young of an age and then you spend six years with somebody, you don’t really get to learn about yourself.”
As fans know, the “Tell Me You Love Me” songstress and the actor were first linked back in 2010. They were on-and-off for six years before calling it quits in June 2016.
The former Camp Rock star’s admission comes just months after she seemingly sent a strong message to her ex by liking a bunch of shady pics on Instagram. She showed some love on a post that said, “Demi stay away from these fake people,” alongside a snap of Wilmer and his new girlfriend hanging out with Joe Jonas — and the internet quickly went into a frenzy.
She also hit the like button on a photo that read, “Wilmer took his new girlfriend for a trip with the Jonas. SO FAKE. The Jonas isn’t good friends for Demi and he should stay away from people who makes Demi [feel] bad. If Wilmer is a true friend of Demi’s, he should stay away from Jonas.”
Demi has since moved on with High School Musical 3 star Max Ehrich.
