Get ready, you guys, because Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet‘s new movie Dune is almost here, and we have a sneak peek of the upcoming flick!

For those who missed it, two of Young Hollywood’s hottest stars are set to appear alongside each other in the brand new feature film — which is going to hit theaters on December 18, 2020. It’s based on a science fiction novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. Described as a “space-faring adventure story that is rich with political intrigue and complex machinations,” Timothée will star as Paul, while Zendaya will portray his love interest, Chani.

After months of waiting, the first look at the world of Dune is finally here, thanks to Empire magazine! Along with some exclusive pics from the film, Timothée himself gushed to the publication about the “awe-inspiring” setting in which they filmed the entire flick.

“You might as well be getting chased by that cliff in the background. It wasn’t a green-screen or anything. That’s one of the most thrilling parts of the book and the movie. We had the sketches. That was a lesson for me,” the the 24-year-old explained. “For a sequence with the sandworm chasing you, I could never imagine that.”

Another batch of exclusive photos published by Empire showed images of the rest of the cast, which includes Oscar Isaac, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin and more.

It’s no secret that while on the Dune set, Timothée and Zendaya struck up quite the friendship. Back in January 2020 they were spotted hanging out in one of New York City’s Bed Bath & Beyond locations, where the actors met a few lucky fans. But that’s not all! Just one day after the Dune photos hit the web, Timothée took to Twitter and praised his “friend,” Zendaya on her birthday.

“Happy birthday to one of the most inspiring people I’ve met on my short journey. Someone with the strongest ethical character, and a moral compass that is in harmony with a totally fearless creative abandon. Happy birthday @Zendaya, hope your day is beautiful,” he wrote on Tuesday, September 1.

Yeah, it’s official, we can’t wait to see their chemistry unfold onscreen once Dune hits theaters!
