Hey, Josie Totah fans, we have some exciting news for you! The Jessie star just announced that she’s hosting the 2019 GLAAD Awards red carpet, and um, we’re freaking out!

In a video posted to her Instagram on Wednesday, March 27 the 17-year-old actress shared the exciting news. She even gave us a sneak peek of the dress she’s going to wear, and OMG… it’s stunning!

The breathtaking, white, fluffy dress was designed by Kentaro Kameyama, who you may recognize from when he won Season 16 of Project Runway. And lucky for us, Josie shared some behind-the-scenes footage of how the gorgeous gown was created!

“If there’s one person who can design a gorgeous dress, it’s Kentaro,” the actress gushed. “I’ve actually never gotten a dress designed for me before.”

The GLAAD Awards will take place on Thursday, March 28 in Los Angeles. The awards show recognizes and honors celebrities, TV shows, movies and more for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Hayley Kiyoko, Olivia Munn, Adam Rippon, Meghan Trainor and more will also make an appearance.

“I personally think fashion transcends gender identity,” Josie continued. “If you’re male, female, if you’re non-binary, whatever color under the rainbow, fashion is that one continuum that brings us all together.”

As fans know, the former Disney star came out as transgender back in August of 2018.

“For so long I’ve been trying to hide who I was by pretending I’m someone I’m not,” she wrote in an essay published by Time. “And I did it in fear. In fear that I wouldn’t be accepted or loved. I tried so hard to become a person that I knew I never was. But I’m realizing I can’t fake it forever. I know now more than ever I’m ready to take the step to becoming myself. I am Transgender and this is my story.”

We are so proud of Josie, and we cannot wait to see her slay that red carpet!
