Get ready to bring on all the nostalgia, you guys, because there’s reportedly a Powerpuff Girls reboot in the works, and we’ve got all the exciting deets!

According to Deadline, the CW is bringing the iconic Cartoon Network show to life in a brand new live-action remake. Yep, it’s going to reportedly feature adult versions of the three kindergarten-aged superheroes that we all knew and loved — Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup. Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier are said to be writing and producing the upcoming series, and we can’t wait!

“The Powerpuff Girls used to be America’s pint-sized superheroes. Now they’re disillusioned 20-somethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?” a synopsis of the remake reads, according to the outlet.

Wow, how epic does that sound?! As fans know, the original show followed the three little superheroes, who were created in a lab by Professor Utonium. They had to constantly save Townsville from evildoers such as Mojo Jojo, the Gangreen Gang and Him. The cartoon aired from 1998 to 2005, and it was definitely a huge part of a lot of our childhoods! It starred Cathy Cavadini, Tara Strong, Elizabeth Daily and Tom Kenny (who fans may remember also voiced SpongeBob SquarePants!), but it’s unclear if any of the OG stars will return for the new series or if they’re casting a whole new set of actors and actresses.

It turns out, Cartoon Network actually remade the series back in 2016, but that was also animated like the original show, so this is the first time we’re going to get a live-action version of it! That show starred Amanda Leighton, Kristen Li and Natalie Palamides.

There’s no release date for it just yet, but we hope they announce something soon!
