Logan Paul is definitely not a stranger to controversy, so it’s no surprise that the YouTuber is making headlines yet again. But he may have seriously crossed the line this time. The 23-year-old is under fire for making a totally insensitive comment about “going gay” for a month, and fans are not pleased.
During in his Impaulsive Podcast on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, Logan revealed that he had decided to go vegan for the month of January as part of his New Year’s Resolutions. The controversial star added that in February, he’s going to do the opposite and eat a ton of meat for the month. But his plan for March was what made his viewers pretty upset.
“And then March — take a guess. What is it? Male-only March,” he said in the podcast. “So it’s male-only March, we’re gonna attempt to go gay for just one month.”
Naturally, fans were not happy about his comment, especially because people quickly pointed out that you can’t just choose to “go gay” whenever you feel like it. “Dear Logan Paul,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “You can’t ‘go gay for a month.’ Being gay is not a choice. This is an insult to the LGBTQ+ community.”
“Perhaps for the month of March instead of baiting the gay community you can use your massive platform as a voice for those LGBT+ who have no voice,” another added.
After receiving a ton of backlash over the comment, Logan took to Twitter to apologize, writing, “Very poor choice of words… my fault. Let’s get together and talk about it on my podcast next week?”
As J-14 readers know, Logan has become pretty known for doing crazy things to get views so this isn’t the first controversy surrounding him and his YouTube channel. Logan was under a lot of scrutiny last year, after he uploaded a video which not only had a dead body in it, but also showed him laughing about it. Not to mention the time that he got arrested after flying a drone over a monument in Italy. Plus, fans were not happy with Logan after he video taped himself jumping into the canals in Italy, which is also totally illegal.
