We could not be more proud of Louis Tomlinson. The One Direction member has just spoken out for the first time since his younger sister’s tragic death, and you might want to grab some tissues.

“Just wanted to thank everyone for their lovely words over the past couple of weeks,” he wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, April 17. “Back in the studio today to vocal something I wrote a few months ago. Sending you all loads of love x.”

Wow, we are seriously so amazed by his strength. As fans know, we were all shocked and devastated for the singer after his sister Félicité died of a suspected heart attack on March 13, 2019. She was only 18 years old, and her tragic passing came only two years after the family lost their mom, Johannah Deakin, to leukemia.

According to The Sun, an ambulance was called after the fashion designer, also known as Fizzy, collapsed during lunchtime. It was reported that she was pronounced dead on the scene, despite medics trying to revive her. No drugs were found at the scene.

At the time of her death, his other sisters all shared heartbreaking tributes to the social media star, but Louis stayed silent on social media — until now, that is. The 27-year-old is set to make his first public appearance since the tragedy on May 4, 2019, where he’ll hit the stage at Free Radio’s Hits Live concert to perform his new single, “Two of Us.”

The 1D heartthrob released the song just days before Fizzy passed away. And the saddest part? It’s a tribute to his late mother.

“So I will keep you, day and night, here until the day I die / I’ll be living one life for the two of us / I will be the best of me, always keep you next to me,” the lyrics read. “Even when I’m on my own, I know I won’t be alone / Tattooed on my heart are the words of your favorite song / I know you’ll be looking down, swear I’m gonna make you proud / I’ll be living one life for the two of us.”

We are so happy that Louis is in good spirits, and we can’t wait to hear the new song he’s working on!
