Logan Paul has yet another huge controversy surrounding his YouTube channel. The star has done a lot of crazy things for views, and in doing so, has had numerous scandals over the years — including a few run-ins with the law. Now, there’s more legal drama involving one of Logan’s videos — and everyone is wondering, will he ever learn?
Last year, the YouTuber took his dog, Kong, to meet a baby tiger for one of his videos. It made for a pretty cute clip — the puppy was scared of the adorable cub at first, but after they got used to each other, the two actually ended up playing together! But where did Logan get a baby tiger, you ask?
That’s where the legal problems come in. In the video, Logan claimed that his friend, Brendan, had a friend that had the baby tiger as a pet in his home in Los Angeles. Seems a little suspicious (and dangerous) since tigers are definitely not supposed to be kept as pets.
Now, The Los Angeles City Attorney said on Wednesday, Dec. 5, that after searching the man’s home, police found “extensive evidence” of the cat being mistreated — including poor living conditions and the presence of steroids. That’s so not okay.
The man, who was identified as Nicholas Perkins, 32, is facing two counts of illegal possession of a tiger, one count of mistreatment of a tiger, and possession of anabolic steroids. If charged, Nicholas can face up to two years in jail.
“Tigers and other exotic animals are not pets,” City Attorney Mike Feuer said in the statement. “Keeping these potentially dangerous animals in a residential setting poses a serious safety risk for residents and animals alike. My office will continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners to ensure these treasured creatures are safe and those who illegally keep them are held accountable.”
This isn’t the first legal trouble surrounding Logan’s YouTube videos. As J-14 readers know, he and his brother, Jake, were arrested in Italy last year after flying their drones over a monument. And just last week, fans were calling for the 23-year-old and Jake to be charged again, after they noticed that the boys jumped into a canal in Italy, which is totally illegal. And let’s not forget the time that Logan showed a dead body that he discovered while hiking in one of his videos that truly brought a lot of negative attention to his channel.
So what did happen to that baby tiger? According to officials, it was taken to a large cat rescue and sanctuary in north Los Angeles County and has made a full recovery. Phew, that’s such a relief.
