As if there wasn’t enough of a reason to be oh so excited about Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin‘s upcoming nuptials, Shawn Mendes just went ahead and made a promise this party is going to be unforgettable. Well you know, since he volunteered as tribute to grace the crowd with a song.
Speaking to Access, the 20-year-old “Lost In Japan” crooner was asked if he would sing at the wedding and he happily said, umm YES!
“Am I going to sing at the wedding? Of course, I would sing. I’m not invited yet, but I’m sure something will happen soon,” Shawn said.
Aww, now how precious is that? It’s no secret that Shawn and Hailey are friends and the two even sparked dating rumors for quite some time, especially when they walked the red carpet at the 2018 Met Gala together.
But they both said they were always just buds and not too long after their night out at the Met, Hailey and the Biebs got engaged. So there’s a good chance Justin has always had the key to the 21-year-old model’s heart! As for Shawn and JB, well, their friendship has been an interesting one. Let us never forget how the 24-year-old “Sorry” singer once infamously uttered, “Who’s Shawn Mendes?” during a radio interview when he asked his thoughts on his fellow Canadian’s music. At the time, Shawn wasn’t on Justin’s radar it seems but since then, he’s listened to Shawn’s jams and the two have become buds. So it would be rather cute if Shawn sang a song for the couple on their big day.
Except, there’s a chance Shawn might’ve missed his chance. Ever since Justin and Hailey got engaged back in July, reports haven’t stopped swirling that these two have gone ahead and gotten married already. A source spilled to ET that the pair actually wed last month!
“The couple kept their marriage a secret from a lot of people. Justin and Hailey wanted to be married, and didn’t want to wait. They still plan to have a more formal wedding, but for them this intimate ceremony was exactly what they wanted,” the source said. “Justin and Hailey were telling people they weren’t married when they were.”
Hailey did take to Twitter in early September, saying “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” But the tweet has since been deleted so maybe they really are Mr. and Mrs. Bieber, after all! Let’s hope they still plan on having that big celebration and they already have themselves a wedding singer. Can’t beat that!
