Is Shay Mitchell having a boy or a girl? That’s the question that’s been on everyone’s minds ever since she announced she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Matte Babel on Friday, June 28. That’s right, the Pretty Little Liars star is about to become a mama, and we couldn’t be more excited for her!
Well guys, you won’t have to wonder for too much longer because the actress just revealed the gender of her baby, and she did it in the best way ever! And lucky for us, she documented the entire thing on YouTube, in a video titled, “Do NOT Try This Gender Reveal at Home.”
Get this, you guys — Shay’s friends dressed up as the blue and pink Power Rangers, and they had a legit fight!
She and her TV host boyfriend didn’t know the sex of the baby either, so they watched in anticipation to see which color Power Ranger came out on top! There were punches and kicks being thrown, and the blue one even body slammed the pink one at one point! Things got so intense that they even fell into the 32-year-old’s pool!
OMG. But in the end, the pink Power Ranger beat out the blue one. Which means… Shay is having a baby girl!
Woo-hoo! So exciting.
“I thought it was a boy for the longest time,” the brunette beauty shared. “Obviously I’m super happy. It’s crazy.”
As fans know, Shay unfortunately suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2018, so this is seriously the best news ever.
“The support and affection that so many of you show me lifts me up during even my darkest days, one of which happened last year after I miscarried and lost the child of my hopes and dreams,” she shared on Instagram on January 1, 2019. “In the spirit of the new year, I think that we need to remember that we are all on this journey together — in good times and in bad — and to remind ourselves that we seldom really know or understand the struggles and hardships that other people are going through.”
We know she’s going to make an amazing mother.
