After the 17-year-old uploaded an apparent “Smash or Pass” video and called the actress “Zuri” instead of “Skai,” she responded, according to screenshots obtained by the Instagram account, TikTok Room.
“It’s sad how I don’t even know him and he has something negative to say. I never spoke on his racist antics… Anyway, it is what it is,” Skai allegedly wrote.
As fans know, the 18-year-old has been using her platform to help as much as she can during the Black Lives Matter movement. Following the tragic death of George Floyd — a 46-year-old, unarmed black man who died in Minneapolis, MN, on May 25, after a police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes — Skai has been calling out and “exposing racists” online when fans present her with “legitimate examples of racist language or behavior.”
After seeing the TikTok Room post, Mattia hit back in the comments section and said, “I called her Zuri, big whoop. Who cares?”
Then, in a separate comment added, “[I don’t know] how calling her a character that she played is negative, but whatever.”
Then, Skai took to the TikTok Room comments and explained the entire situation.
“He said, ‘But it’s not disrespectful when Zuri from Jessie does it,’ regarding uploading a ‘Smash or Pass’ video. Just don’t know what I have to do with him uploading a ‘Smash or Pass,’ that’s all!” she clarified.
In a final comment, Skai seemingly ended the entire interaction.
“No bad energy on my end, we have bigger issues going on in the world right now,” she wrote. “Black Lives Matter. RIP George Floyd.”
Mattia has yet to publicly respond any further.
