TikTok queen Charli D’Amelio has no time for bodyshamers. That’s right, the 15-year-old took to Twitter on Monday, April 27 and clapped back at internet trolls who were discussing her weight online.
“STOP TALKING ABOUT MY BODY! It’s not your place to tell me if I’m losing weight or gaining weight,” the influencer wrote in a series of tweets. “Why don’t we all just be respectful and understand that we should just be kind and uplift everyone instead of trying to bring others down. I’ve seen these videos about me my friends and complete strangers but it doesn’t matter who you’re doing it to.”
She continued, “It’s never okay and I feel like I really needed to say that I love you all but please stop!”
As fans know, her meaningful tweets came just days after the social media star was forced to delete a photo of herself in a bikini on Instagram after it received hateful comments from followers.
“That is not a woman’s body, women’s [bodies] are not long like that,” one nasty comment read on the since-deleted post, which seemingly led Charli to take down the post all together.
Previously, fellow TikTok star and Hype House member Addison Rae also took to social media and got real about the amount of hate that she has received about her appearance.
“I’ve seen five to 10 tweets and TikToks today talking negatively about my body and weight… It makes me feel insecure, but luckily, I’m looking at it in a different light,” she posted to Twitter on April 21, 2020. “I’ve been very motivated to start eating better and working out everyday to become the healthiest version of myself!”
She continued, “It definitely hurts to see people on my [‘For You’ page] calling me ‘a whale’ and saying, ‘She’s fat now,’ and I just want to encourage everyone who hears these things about themselves to love yourself! If you are healthy and happy, do NOT listen to these hurtful comments. You are perfect.”
