We are all so proud of David Dobrik for winning his first ever Kids’ Choice Award on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The YouTuber took home the award for Favorite Social Star, and it was definitely a big moment for him.
So big, in fact, that the 22-year-old member of the Vlog Squad actually broke down crying. Yes, that’s right, in a new video uploaded to his YouTube channel on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, David opened up about just how much it meant to him — and he couldn’t hold back his tears.
It all started when David brought back an old clip of a special moment between him and his bestie Josh Peck.
“Two years ago,” he captioned the epic throwback video. In it, David practically loses it over the fact that the Drake and Josh star has three Kids’ Choice Awards.
“Can I touch it?” he asked Josh, holding the coveted orange blimp.
It was clear that winning a Kids’ Choice Award was always a huge dream of his. The video then flashed forward to the day before the 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards.
“Hey guys, the Kids’ Choice Awards are tomorrow, that’s pretty exciting. I just watched that clip from two years ago, so I’m pretty emotional,” David said to the camera, as tears filled his eyes.
Aw! How cute is that? And of course, David even vlogged during the star-studded event. He was nervous leading up to his award – but afterwards, he was pretty ecstatic.
“Our little boy! Our little cub! He did it,” Josh, who actually presented David with the award, gushed.
Wow, talk about coming full circle!
Aw, our hearts are bursting. It was definitely a magical night for the social media star. Although, he almost had a slightly awkward moment when he ran into his ex — Liza Koshy. At one point during his new vlog, David turned the camera to show his former flame sitting a few seats over from him.
“That’s my ex, I really gotta impress her,” he said to the camera.
But don’t worry guys, it seems like everything is all good between them because she looked pretty excited to see him!
Congrats on the award, David, you seriously deserved it.
