After months of waiting, the trailer for Dune is finally here! Fans got a first look at Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya sharing a steaming smooch as characters Paul and Chani in their upcoming film, on Wednesday, September 9.

The actors are set to hit the big screen on December 18 in the star-studded movie based on a science fiction novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. Dune is described as a “space-faring adventure story that is rich with political intrigue and complex machinations.” Aside from Timothée and Zendaya, the movie also stars Oscar Isaac, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa Josh Brolin and more.

Previously, fans got a look inside the world of Dune with a series of exclusive pictures from the action-packed flick shared with Empire magazine! Timothée also gushed to the publication about the “awe-inspiring” setting in which the movie was filmed.

“You might as well be getting chased by that cliff in the background. It wasn’t a green-screen or anything. That’s one of the most thrilling parts of the book and the movie. We had the sketches. That was a lesson for me,” the 24-year-old explained. “For a sequence with the sandworm chasing you, I could never imagine that.”

While speaking with Empire, Zendaya recalled meeting Timothée for the first time.

“I felt like we’d known each other forever, like he was my homie growing up,” she said. “We became really great friends. He’s very talented.”

As fans know, the former Disney Channel starlet also got emotional after Timothée took to Twitter on Zendaya’s 24th birthday and called her “one of the most inspiring people” he’s ever met.

“Someone with the strongest ethical character, and a moral compass that is in harmony with a totally fearless creative abandon. Happy birthday @Zendaya, hope your day is beautiful,” he wrote on September 1.

“Yo, you bout to make me tear up over here man,” the Shake It Up alum responded. “Thank you for this, I appreciate you very much.”
