It’s here, guys. After months of anticipation, Asher Angel‘s latest single, “All Day,” has finally dropped, and it’s even better than we all expected!
Well guys, prepare to fall even more in love with the new song because the Andi Mack star just spilled all the tea exclusively to J-14 on the inspiration behind it. He also opened up about his upcoming music, and his plans to collaborate with his girlfriend, Annie LeBlanc!
J-14: Tell us about “All Day!” What’s it about?
Asher Angel: “All Day” is that song that makes you want to love living life. It’s that spring break/summer jam that keeps you smiling while listening to it with your friends or your girl.
J-14: Was it inspired by anyone in your real life?
Asher: Of course. A lot of the songs I currently connect with or write are about love. That’s what I’m feeling at the moment so — art imitating life.
J-14: Is it ever nerve-wracking to release a song so personal to you?
Asher: Honestly, I think it’s so great to get the chance to put my life experiences and feelings into music that other people can relate to.
J-14: Any fun behind-the-scenes stories you can share from filming the music video?
Asher: Unfortunately, we have not been able to shoot the music video because of the COVID-19 and the social distancing rules. But, we did film a home brew visualizer and I am really excited about the creative on the project.
J-14: I know you’ve released a bunch of songs now — any plans to drop an album?
Asher: Absolutely – when the time is right. I have a great body of work that I’m really proud of and excited to share with my fans. But my real goal is to keep releasing music whether it be an EP or singles. I just want to keep sharing my passion for music.
J-14: Any plans to release any music with your girlfriend, Annie?
Asher: I would love to collaborate on a record with Annie. That would be so much fun.
J-14: What’s your writing process like?
Asher: Writing comes relatively natural for me. When I’m sitting at my piano or on the guitar I just start playing and writing. Somewhat subconsciously at times. It depends on my mood, my perspective, my passion or the story I want to tell
J-14: Are you still in contact with your Andi Mack costars?
Asher: Yes! Everyone is doing great and we actually have had time to catch up with each other since everyone is in self-isolation.
J-14: When’s the last time you saw them or talked to them?
Asher: It’s been a while since I have seen them but we do try and speak when we can.
J-14: What are you doing to pass the time during quarantine?
Asher: Playing the guitar, playing the piano, writing songs, reading scripts, playing basketball, exercising, eating and playing with the puppy. Actually, been keeping pretty busy.
J-14: What are some things you and Annie like to do together?
Asher: We like to watch movies and just hang out together. Whether indoors or outdoors we just enjoy each other company and make each other laugh. So we always have a lot of fun no matter what we are doing.
J-14: What’s next for you?
Asher: I just want to be lucky enough to keep working and connect with great projects.
