It’s safe to say that Little Mix and Fifth Harmony were two of the biggest girl groups of all time, so it’s only natural for fans to wonder if the they ever feuded. Well, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson just got real about their relationship with the 5H girls, and they admitted that there was definitely a rivalry between them.

“We always loved them, we never didn’t like them as people but there was a point where there was rivalry,” Jade admitted while chatting with Buzzfeed on Tuesday, May 12.

“We loved them all, we did like Fifth Harmony but when they came along we were a bit like, ‘Oh no another girl band!’ [It was] that kind of vibe,” Perrie added. “I don’t think it was ever rivalry because they were so different. I think if they were doing the same stuff we were doing and we were similar… I don’t know, but I feel like we never thought of it as rivalry between us.”

“We never had a problem with the girls, it was just a bit awkward that we were on the same label,” Jesy explained.

As fan know, Little Mix were formed back in 2011 after auditioning on the U.K.’s X Factor as solo artists. They ultimately won the competition and got signed by Simon Cowell‘s label, Syco Music.

As for Fifth Harmony — which was made up of Camila Cabello, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke and Lauren Jauregui — they were put together on the American version of the show in 2012. They finished in third place, and were also signed by Simon’s label.

Both groups have gone on to drop some seriously epic bops, break numerous records and slay the charts over the years. Fifth Harmony announced in 2018 that they were taking an indefinite hiatus so that the girls could all focus on their solo careers. Little Mix, on the other hand, are still releasing music together, and their latest single, “Break Up Song,” came out in March 2020.
