Ever since Annie LeBlanc and Asher Angel revealed that they were dating, we’ve all been pretty obsessed with their relationship. We mean, they’re two of our favorite stars, so naturally, everyone quickly started shipping the couple, and hard. Well guys, prepare to fall even more in love with them because the singer just spilled all the tea on the first time they met, and it’s seriously adorable (and slightly awkward, LOL).
“Apparently — I don’t remember this, but apparently I met him at a Jungle Ball like two years ago,” the 14-year-old told J-14 exclusively at Nickelodeon’s Slime Fest on June 9. “And just, two years ago wasn’t my time. I was new to LA. I didn’t know a lot of people. And I saw this guy. He was like, ‘Hi, I’m on a new Disney show Andi Mack. What’s up?’ And I’m like socially awkward, and I’m like, ‘Cool. Nice to meet you.’ And that’s kind of it. I don’t remember it, but my mom says that that happened.”
OK, how cute is that?! Little did she know that she was meeting the love of her life that day! But although they met at Disney’s Jungle Ball in 2017, the couple didn’t grow close until she appeared in Asher’s “Chemistry” music video back in June 2018. And right away, sparks flew.
“We spent the entire day laughing and getting to know each other,” Asher told us about the day they shot the video.
In the months that followed, rumors quickly started spreading that they were more than friends. We mean, they were constantly hanging out, sharing adorable snaps together and complimenting each other’s work! And in May 2019, Asher finally confirmed that they were in a relationship.
“She’s super cool, super nice and she makes me happy,” he gushed to Zach Sang on his podcast. “I make her happy, I guess, somehow. I don’t know how. It’s crazy. But she’s the best and she’s very supportive.”
These two are seriously the cutest.
