Are Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez back together? That’s the question on everyone’s minds this morning after pics of the former couple hanging out surfaced the web on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019. Yeah, that’s right, the exes just spent an entire day together in NYC, and we’re low-key freaking out.
So although they spent some time together, take a deep breath guys because it looks like the pair may only be friends. Ariana recently revealed via Twitter that not only is she not dating anyone at the moment, but she has no plans for a relationship at all in 2019. After a fan asked her who she’s dating, she replied, “Spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it’s no one. please refer back to this tweet for future questions,” which is honestly a true mood.

So what’s going on between her and the 26-year-old you ask? The two actually rekindled their friendship right around the time that she released “Thank U, Next,” which, as J-14 readers know, even has a line about the dancer. After it came out the two had a super cute interaction on Instagram Stories, where he shared his reaction to the song and Ari reposted it. But the 25-year-old quickly cleared up the rumors that anything was going on between them, when she replied to a fan on Instagram. “We’re friends everyone take a big ol’ breather,” she wrote.
Plus, who else noticed the sweet message she left for her former flame in the “Thank U, Next” music video? As J-14 readers can remember, Ari included a “burn book” with messages to all of her exes in the Mean Girls inspired vid. And on Ricky’s page she wrote, “great dancer, good times man, friends forever.”
So there you have it folks, it looks like the “God Is A Woman” singer and Ricky are nothing more than BFFs, and we’re truly loving their friendship.
