When Ariana Grande finally dropped the “Thank U, Next” music video, it 100 percent lived up to all the hype. Not only did the 25-year-old songstress look like a total queen the entire time, but you can see how much fun she had recreating iconic movie scenes with the help of her friends. Seriously, we wish we could’ve been on set because this video was just well, so fetch.
But in typical Ari fashion, she didn’t just make an ordinary music video. She made sure she left a few Easter Eggs throughout it that we’re sure her most Eagle-eyed fans were able to pick up on. Like the fact that while everyone was freaking out over the many celeb cameos, there was one person near and dear to the singer’s heart who made a low-key appearance in the video. And that’s her mom, Joan Grande! That’s right, Ariana’s mama was totally there in a blink and you’ll miss it moment. See, during the Jingle Bell Rock performance when the legendary momager that is Kris Jenner is getting her “I’m a cool mom” vibes on, Joan is sitting behind her, wearing sunglasses and clapping along with the crowd. ANd sitting in front of Joan are the producers of “Thank U, Next” too.
Any Ariana fan knows how close she is with her family and although Joan didn’t play the role of the “cool mom” in the vid, she still made a super brief appearance and it’s everything. And that’s just the beginning of the hidden gems! From the confessions she made about her famous ex-boyfriends in her Mean Girls’ Burn Book to little nuggets she placed throughout the video in honor of her family, Ariana didn’t play when it came to making sure “Thank U, Next” was unforgettable.
