Ariana Grande left her fans shook when she dropped the teaser for her upcoming “Thank U, Next” music video. Seriously, this video — which is “coming soon” according to the trailer — is going to be iconic, thanks to the fact that Ari is reenacting scenes from movies like Mean Girls, 13 Going On 30, Bring It On, and Legally Blonde. And after seeing the trailer, which was edited like that scene in Mean Girls where Regina George’s fellow students talk about what makes her so iconic, we are all super excited to see the final product. Well actually, not everyone is excited. The OG Mean Girls star, Lindsay Lohan, had something to say about the video and she was not very happy.

“Ain’t nobody Lindsay Lohan like the real Lindsay Lohan,” the actress wrote on Instagram yesterday.

Could we sense a little sass there, Lindsay? Some fans certainly thought so! “I smell shade,” one fan commented underneath the pic.

But don’t worry guys, the 32-year-old also added that she was totally flattered by Ariana’s tribute.

“But so flattered by @arianagrande loving #MeanGirls so much!” She continued. “Also, I love #Dynasty.” As J-14 readers know, Ariana, 25, will be playing the role of Regina George in the video and playing Lindsay’s role of Cady Heron is Ari’s Victorious co-star Liz Gillies, who is currently starring on The CW series, Dynasty. Which apparently Lindsay is a fan of!

Aaron ❤️ Cady. Thank U, Next.

Okay, Liz looks so much like Cady that we totally had to do a double take! Besides her old Victorious co-star, there were a ton of other iconic cameos in the trailer, including two of the OG Mean Girls actors — Jonathan Bennett and Stefanie Drummond. In case you forgot, Jonathan played Aaron Samuels in the original movie and Stefanie played Bethany Byrd (AKA the student who famously said, “One time, she punched me in the face. It was awesome.”). Maybe Lindsay was upset she wasn’t asked to be in it?

Colleen Ballinger, AKA Miranda Sings, Daniella MonetTroye Sivan, and Gabi DeMartino also made appearances in the trailer, so yes, this video is going to be next-level. Although it looks like it’s certainly going to be epic, nothing could ever compare to the original movie Lindsay, so you’ve got nothing to worry about. You know what they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery! And Ari paying homage to all of these classic movies is just grool.
