For those who missed it, Selena Gomez recently released a brand new single called “Boyfriend.” Now, to go along with the track, the former Disney Channel starlet dropped a brand new music video featuring the doll version of herself. Yep, famed Instagram account selenagomez.doll directed a visual for the track that features doll Selena going on various dates with boys to finds someone worthy enough to be her boyfriend and it’s epic, TBH!
But, to fans’ surprise, one of the boys she went on the date with was super recognizable. That’s right, BTS‘ Jin made a mini-cameo in the music video when his doll from the South Korean boyband’s 2019 Mattel collaboration sat across the table from the doll version of Selena.
Jin wasn’t the only “Boy With Luv” singer to show up in the visual. A few eagle eyed fans also noticed Jungkook‘s signature red hair and deduced that his doll also made an appearance in the background of some scenes.
Naturally, fans immediately freaked out and took to Twitter to share their epic findings.
“No way! Selena Gomez actually used Jin and Jungkook’s Mattel dolls in her latest new video,” one person wrote. Another said, “OK apparently it is fan made, but Selena promoted this video which has Jin and JK dolls in it.”
Another revealed that during one clip in the video, doll Selena seemingly walked past a clothing rack holding the BTS dolls’ clothes.
“[You] can see the Selena doll walking next to BTS’ idol outfits (Jin’s is on her left),” someone tweeted.
Why did the director decide to include this epic BTS cameo? Well, according to an interview the artist did with Teen Vogue, it had everything to do with how the dolls’ limbs moved.
“I used the BTS dolls in my video because they have a lot of articulation, so it’s easy for me to move their arms and to position them however I want to!” the artist explained.
Whether it was intentional or not, we now need a BTS and Selena collaboration ASAP!
