It’s safe to say Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes fans are really hoping that they win a Grammy Award on Sunday, January 26. Why? Well, during a recent interview with Radio.com, Camila revealed that award show viewers are in store for an exciting surprise if they do win.
“If Shawn and I win the Grammy, we will walk onstage in our underwear like Twenty One Pilots did. That’s a promise,” she said.
For those who don’t know, in 2017, the alternative duo — comprised of Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph — took of their pants moments before taking the stage to accept their award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. During their speech, the pair confessed that years ago they promised each other, “If we ever go to the Grammys. If we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this.”
Coincidentally, that is the exact same category that Camila and Shawn are up for at this year’s event. If Hollywood’s hottest couple strips down to their underwear on live television after winning a Grammy award, the internet will, no doubt, explode! Unfortunately for fans, it seemed like Camila was just joking.
“Just kidding. It’s not [a promise]. I gotta work out before I do that,” she later said.
During the same interview, the “Señorita” songstress dished about being nominated alongside her boyfriend.
“It feels really special to get to share that kind of experience with someone that is first and foremost my friend that I’ve known for such a long time,” she admitted. “He was actually the first person, I think, that I wrote a song with, which was when we did our collaboration ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer.’ And just kind of like flashing back to then, when we were just two kids in a dressing room… like writing a song really quickly and just being so excited about that to being excited about this song. And we’ve grown up so much, and getting to experience something so prestigious with him is really cool.”
