Ever since Liam Payne welcomed his son, Bear, with his ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole, we’ve all been wondering what kind of dad the One Direction member is. We mean, is he super strict with the cutie or laid back? Well guys, the Girls Aloud singer just spilled all the tea on Liam’s parenting, and wow, our hearts can hardly take it! Yeah, you might want to prepare yourselves because it’s, like, the cutest thing ever.
“I’m the strict one, Liam isn’t. I’ll be the one saying, ‘just one square of chocolate,’ she told British newspaper The Telegraph. “Liam is a great dad. He’s much softer than me.”
OMG, how sweet is that? We can totally picture the “Strip That Down” crooner being a total softie when it comes to his son.
“But Bear is so good,” she continued. “If I get cross with him he puts his little hands on my face and looks into my eyes to see if I’m deadly serious or a tiny bit cross, and it melts my heart.”
OK, we’re not gonna lie, we may or may not be crying right now. As fans know, Liam and Cheryl dated for two years before going their separate ways back in July of 2018. But the 35-year-old told the outlet that she and 1D heartthrob have put their differences aside in order to co-parent Bear.
“It is what it is, and I’m OK about it. When you have a baby, you are not consumed with just thinking about yourself,” she explained. “It’s your responsibility to keep things settled and happy, so you make the best of everything. And we have.”
Unfortunately for us, the former couple has kept the 2-year-old pretty private since his birth in March of 2017 — only posting a few pics here and there. But Cheryl finally gave us some insight on what the baby looks like, and it turns out he’s got big, brown eyes, just like his dad! Plus, she said he’s already getting so big!
“He weighs a ton and my mum can barely carry him,” she told the outlet. “She’s only 4-foot-11 and he’s almost as big as her!”
