Another Descendants film is coming to Disney Channel – and no, we’re not just talking about Descendants 3. Well, yes – that is coming too. But we won’t have to wait until Summer 2019 when that comes out to get a little dose of the ~wicked world~ because a new live-action short-form special is premiering this fall. Yep, you heard us correctly. The upcoming film is called Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story, and we just about lost our minds when it was announced during the DCOM premiere of Freaky Friday. And now, there’s a new trailer that was just released that shows Mal and Uma going head to head.
In the first trailer for the special, we saw Mal (Dove Cameron) emerge from a forest onto a coastline – where she runs into Dizzy (Anna Cathcart). When she notices Dizzy wearing a necklace that belongs to Uma (China McClain), things get spooky.
As we know, Descendants 2 ended with Uma in the ocean, swimming away from the other Villain Kids, saying, “What? You didn’t think this was the end of the story, did you?” So looks like she’s up to something bad – once again. Crazy, right?! Oh, and you better believe the pirate squad will be there, as Thomas Doherty and Dylan Playfair are, of course, reprising their roles of Harry and Gil. Before the announcement of the special, Disney Channel released a little teaser featuring China. Check it out!
Immediately after the official Disney Channel premiere on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 7:40 PM EST, the special will then be available on the DisneyNOW app (www.DisneyNOW.com) and Disney Channel VOD. We can’t wait! It looks like there is a whole lot in store.
