Oh no — it looks like there is trouble in paradise for Bella Hadid and The Weeknd. The couple officially called it quits, Life & Style confirmed.

Yep, that’s right. According to E! News, the couple went their separate ways over one year after they reunited in 2018. A source told the outlet that “distance” played a role in their decision to split.

“They are in different places right now, physically and mentally,” the source told the outlet. “Bella is prepping for her fashion week commitments and Abel is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut.”

In addition to their conflicting schedules, the source also said that “they have been arguing a lot recently.”

The former lovebirds’ romance initially sparked at Coachella in 2015, but they initially broke up a few months later.

After their first breakup, Bella told Teen Vogue in 2016, “I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him. Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you’ve fought so hard to build.”

The 29-year-old Grammy winner then dated Selena Gomez for approximately 10 months before then being spotted leaving Bella’s apartment in November 2017. The “Starboy” singer and the 22-year-old model have been an item since May 2018 after they were caught kissing in Cannes. But to say it’s been an on-again, off-again relationship is a major understatement.

News of the split comes just two months after the singer — whose real name is Abel Tesfayesurprised his girlfriend abroad. But hey — there might be some hope for the two to get back together.

The source told E!, “They hope to get back together at one point but for now are focusing on themselves and their projects.”

Only time will tell, we suppose!
