You guys might want to brace yourselves because we have the best news ever — Dylan Sprouse has been cast in the upcoming After sequel! SCREAMING. Yep, the Harry Styles-inspired flick is getting a second movie, called After We Collided, and the Suite Life of Zack and Cody star has just joined the already-epic cast.
The 27-year-old actor will be playing Trevor, or better known as “F–king Trevor.” For those of you who read the books, you probably already know that Trevor is a coworker of Tessa’s who starts to develop feelings for her. He’s known as “F–king Trevor” because Hardin pretty much hates him. Dylan shared the exciting news via Instagram on Monday, August 5.
“I’m very excited to announce to you that I will be playing Trevor in After We Collided,” he said in a video posted to After‘s official account. “I cannot wait to bring ‘F–king Trevor’ to life for you, and I’m excited for you all to see the finished content. Can’t wait to start filming.”
Anna Todd, who wrote the books, reposted his message, adding, “We have our ‘F–king Trevor.'”
For those of you who missed it, After originated as a One Direction fan fiction on a site called Wattpad. After getting millions of views it was published into a five-part book series. The first movie came out back in April and made over $52M. It was all about a good girl named Tessa who went away to college and fell in love with a bad boy named Hardin (that’s the character based off of Harry!). The movie was pretty intense, TBH, and Hardin and Tessa’s relationship is definitely a roller coaster ride.
Back in May, Deadline reported that Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin are set to reprise their roles in the second movie.
“We’ve already seen what this magic mix of a compelling narrative, extremely hardworking talent and insatiable fans can do at the box-office on After,” Jonathan Deckter, executive producer of the first film, told the outlet. “We partnered with incredibly strategic international distributors on the first installment of After, who were able to unlock the film’s immense value and we can’t wait to get back to work on the second.”
“I am beyond excited to begin the sequel to After,” Anna added. “The fans made the first film a worldwide success and we are ready to bring them more of Hardin and Tessa in the sequel. This next film will truly capture the heart and feel of the books.”
Well guys, Hardin and Tessa’s love story isn’t finished just yet — and we cannot wait to see what happens next!
