It's been nearly a week since Harry Styles graced the universe with his collection of 10 songs on his debut album appropriately named, Harry Styles. The former One Direction singer is in full-on solo mode and of course fans have been listening to each line of every tune closely, learning these jams backward and forward you know, in order to get ready for his upcoming tour. It's all in the name of research and during this time learning the words to the songs, it looks like they've uncovered the true identity of who his song "Carolina" is about. No, it's not one of his very famous exes or someone actually named Carolina, but a girl he spent some time with once.

Her name is Townes Adair Jones and she's a typical girl who happened to meet Harry and inspired by that one hangout session, he wrote this song. Just let that sink in.

OK, now let's uncover how the fandom came to this v important conclusion:

The story behind "Carolina":

In Harry's Apple Music documentary Harry Styles: Behind the Album, he explains how he ended up writing the tune, which was the last song he wrote for the record. Hazza spent time in Jamaica recording the album but he, his band and his producers had hit a brick wall, until he stepped away for one day for a little break.

"We had about a week where we were in a total hole and couldn't do anything and we were all starting to doubt the album. And then for the first time in a long time I had actually been out and done something and then came back to the studio and decided to write about that," Harry said. "'Carolina' is the exact little piece that had been missing. It was the little bit of fun we wanted and little bit of fun we didn't have."

So who is "Carolina" about?

Well, as Harry admitted in the doc, he didn't tell this girl that the song was about her and he had seen her since that first meeting. As he put it, "but her name's in it so I'm a bit f—ed with that one."

So to the lyrics we go! As it turns out, in the first verse, he straight up mentions her name.

She's got a family in Carolina/So far away, but she says I remind her of home/Feeling oh so far from home/She never saw herself as a west coaster/Moved all the way cause her grandma told her/"Townes, better swim before you drown"

And there is it, Townes is the name everyone had been looking for.

Who is Townes?

Now this is where the forever on their game 1D fans come into play. From doing some Harriet the Spy-style sleuthing, they were able to uncover that Townes is a girl Harry met once, who fans believe is the girl he's talking to this these photos.

And this is what she actually looks like.

We know, she's GORGEOUS.

Townes is a 20-year-old college student who only ever went on one blind date with Harry, but they're still on friendly terms, according to a friend of hers who spoke to DailyMail.

"The story is as cute as the song is, she thinks it's adorable, really sweet, but she was really surprised by the gesture," the friend told the publication. "She never imagined he'd do something like this. She loves the song, and thinks it was very lovely of him to do it but doesn't really want any of the attention that comes along with it."

Ahh, a humble girl.

Did she know Harry wrote a song about her?

Well according to Harry himself, no she didn't. When he was chatting to his good pal Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1, Harry shared the story of how she found out about the song: from her dad.

"Their dad watched The Today Show and he left them a voicemail saying, 'I think he just sang a song about you on the TV,'" Harry shared. Casual, right? And in case you need even more of a reason to just freak out, take a closer look at these lyrics:

How would I tell her that she's all I think about?/Well, I guess she just found out

I met her once and wrote a song about her/ I wanna scream, yeah/ I wanna shout it out/And I hope she hears me now

BRB, crying. As one fan pointed out. Townes is basically living the dream of so many people.

Since Harry is currently linked to food blogger Tess Ward, it doesn't seem like there is anything more to his relationship with Townes, except that she is someone he was totally impressed with after only one date. She's forever immortalized on his album, so we all should be nothing but proud. Legit the ultimate goal, right?
