He’s setting the record straight. Jeffree Star told fans he’s “not in a serious relationship” with Andre Marhold in a series of Instagram Stories posted on Wednesday, September 9.
“The only thing I want to say is I’m having fun with someone,” the 34-year-old said. “I am genuinely having a good time. No, I am not in a serious relationship. No, I am not in love.”
The YouTuber went on to explain the meaning behind a recent Instagram post where he cozied up alongside the basketball player in rainbow robes.
“My caption the other day about ‘Love Always Wins’ was about equality and just the feeling of love and affection,” Jeffree explained.
He also hinted at his past relationship with Nathan Schwandt. As fans know, Jeffree announced his split from Nathan in an emotional YouTube video uploaded in January. They were together for five years.
“I’ve only been in love with one man, y’all know who that is,” he said. Then continued, “I’m just currently hanging out with someone, y’all. We’re just having a good time. We hang out every week or two, we’ve been hanging out for a few months. Just know that Jeffree Lynn is in a really good headspace.”
Jeffree sent fans into a frenzy when he first went public with Andre. They packed on the PDA in an Instagram post from August 23.
“Thankful for all the blessings God has brought into my life this year,” the makeup mogul captioned the snap, which showed him wrapped up in Andre’s arms.
Since then, the two have continued to show off their relationship on social media and even documented a date night on Instagram Stories following comments from Andre’s ex, Leezy. According to an interview with Life & Style, she revealed she was “devastated” when hearing the news of his relationship with Jeffree.
“I’m still hurt and confused about the situation because I do not know, I don’t know what’s going on, honestly,” she told the publication on September 2.
Ultimately, Jeffree assured his millions of followers in the since-expired Instagram Stories that he’s “genuinely happy.”
