Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have been pretty hush-hush when it comes to their relationship. Ever since they started dating last year, we’ve barely gotten any pics of the couple, and the details about their romance have been pretty scarce. It’s been a struggle for us Jaylor shippers, TBH. But now, the actor has finally opened up about their relationship when he sat down with GQ Magazine, and although he didn’t want to reveal much, what he said could not have been cuter.
The two stars have done their best not to be photographed together, and they’ve definitely never spoken about each other in an interview, so this is kind of a big deal. They have dropped a few hints about their love over the last year though. Like, for example, when Taylor, 28, was snapped wearing necklace with the letter “J”. Or let’s not forget the time that the two shared very similar images of themselves posing next to a cactus.
But that’s about all we’ve gotten from the low-key couple. So why is it they’ve played so coy about the relationship?
“Someone’s private life is, by definition, private. No one is obliged to share their personal life,” Joe explained to the magazine.
Okay that’s fair enough, but was their matching cactus photos a message to the public? The 27-year-old admitted he actually didn’t even realize it had happened until later!
“No. I didn’t even think of that until I was in New York and someone else mentioned it,” he explained. “It wasn’t purposeful at all!”
The singer also revealed that he no longer lived with his parents, which might mean that he’s taken the big step of moving in with the singer, but he neither confirmed nor denied.
Joe has been spotted supporting the “Ready For It” singer at multiple shows during the Reputation Stadium Tour, so we’re pretty sure he’s a big fan of her music. But when the interviewer asked him what his favorite song by his girlfriend was, the actor smoothly avoided giving an answer.
“I’m just not even going to go into that side of the world,” he told the magazine.
Ugh. Why do they have to be so secretive?! All that matters is that they’re happy, we guess, even though we’re dying for some deets here!
