Everyone has their insecurities, but JoJo Siwa wants the world to know that she’s not going to let comments about her appearance get to her. Talking to The Today Show on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, the Nickelodeon star not only opened up about how she deals with all the negative comments, but she also clapped back at the haters who have claimed that she has a receding hairline. You go girl!
“There’s been a lot of people who have said that they don’t like my hairline,” she opened up. “But here’s the thing, when I look in the mirror, I know that my hairline makes me who I am, it makes me special.”
JoJo is right — it’s definitely important to embrace your flaws because they set you apart from everyone else! “We all have something about us that we don’t like,” she continued. “I think we should all end up loving what we don’t like.”
“I am who I am. I can’t change it so I might as well love what I got,” the “D.R.E.A.M.” singer added.
Um, how inspiring is that? When you’re in the spotlight and getting a ton of attention, unfortunately, some people may get jealous. But JoJo has an important message to her critics, who she explained have made videos dedicated just to hating on her. “If I could say anything to the people who make those videos, I would probably say, ‘Thank you.’ Because those videos get a lot of views and they’re saying my name and they’re putting out a video with my picture in it,” she added. “I don’t know. I’m not going to say, “No, thank you.” I’d rather have you make a nice video, but thank you.”
What a good way to look at things! You know what they say — haters make you famous, right? But normal people like us have their share of internet trolls too, and the blonde beauty has some important advice for how we can deal with the hate. “If you’re getting hate on social media, here’s what I would tell you to do,” she explained. “All you’ve got to do if it’s a comment is just delete and click the person and block them. Just delete and block, delete and block, delete and block, delete and block. That’s all you’ve got to do, and focus on the nice comments. Because with every one hate comment, you’re going to get nice comments. So, focus on those 10 nice comments and don’t let that one hate comment get to your day.”
We are loving JoJo’s positive mindset and we’re totally going to start trying out her advice. Bye haters!
