From the sound of it, Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has broken up with her boyfriend, Love Island star Chris Hughes. The songstress reportedly called it quits with her reality star boyfriend while they were living separately due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
“She split up with him last week in a phone call, as she thought the relationship had run its course,” insiders told Daily Mail. “There are no hard feelings. Jesy said he was surprisingly fine about it and thinks she will stay friends with him.”
As fans know, the pair was together for a little over a year before they seemingly went their separate ways. Neither Jesy nor Chris has spoken out about the rumored breakup, but both broke their social media silence and have since posted selfies on Instagram. Previous to their split, some people were convinced that the couple was expecting their first child together after Chris hinted that she was pregnant in an Instagram Stories post.
Chris captioned the post writing, “She’s the best,” with an arrow pointing toward Jesy, but it was the baby emoji he added underneath the photo that had some people convinced that she’s pregnant. At the time, the pair did not confirm or deny the rumors that they were expecting.
These pregnancy rumors came just after Jesy denied that she was engaged to Chris. After her National Television Awards win, the songstress spoke to reporters. One noticed a diamond ring on her finger and asked if Chris had proposed.
Jesy replied, “No, it’s not an engagement ring. This is just accessories.”
Chris and Jesy first got together in January 2019. The pair was spotted hanging out at a Harry Potter-themed bar in London, after he reportedly slid into her DMs. Before they broke up, the couple was known for constantly gushing over each other on Instagram, supporting each other’s work and posting the cutest, PDA-filled snaps. In July 2019, Chris revealed that they had moved in together and made their romance work despite their busy schedules.
