It’s time to say goodbye to Fred Andrews in Riverdale. That’s right, you may want to grab some tissues before watching this week’s episode of the CW series because showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa just revealed it was the last episode that Luke Perry filmed.

“This week’s is the last episode Luke filmed,” he shared on Twitter on Sunday, April 21. “As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever…”

The episode will air on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 8 p.m.

As fans know, the world was heartbroken when the beloved actor unfortunately passed away on March 4, 2019, after suffering from a massive stroke. And ever since the devastating news hit the web, fans have wondered what will happen to Archie’s dad in the show and how they’ll address his tragic death.

“You know, honestly, we are, I think, all still in shock and are all still processing and grieving,” Roberto told Entertainment Tonight when he was asked about his plans for Luke’s character. “We know that we have to address it in some way, but we’re giving ourselves a little bit of time and space before we figure out the best way to honor him.”

The executive producer also revealed what a big part of the show Luke was, and it was truly heartbreaking.

“Luke was, is, and will always be a big part of Riverdale,” he continued. “We’re kind of a family and when a loss like this happens, you carry it always. It changes and it hopefully becomes a little less painful as time goes by, but you’re changed. When I was with the crew, I said, ‘It will never be the same,’ and that’s true because Luke was such a part of the show. There are still a few more episodes that have Luke in them, so we’re glad to share those. His spirit — which was so generous and wise and vivacious — we hope will infuse every episode, so in my mind, every episode for the rest of time on Riverdale will have a bit of Luke in it.”

The show definitely won’t be the same without him.
