Rapper Machine Gun Kelly has spoken out against rumors that he’s dating Demi Lovato. On Sunday, February 9, the 29-year-old took to Twitter and seemingly set the record straight.

“Stop thinking I’m dating someone just because I’m in a picture with them. Girls and boys can be friends,” MGK told his 1.3 million followers.

Although the rapper — whose real name is Colson Baker — didn’t explicitly name the girl he was talking about, some fans were quick to speculate that he was clearing the air about his rumored romance with Demi. As fans know, a few days earlier, photos of MGK and the “Anyone” songstress leaving Soho House West Hollywood together hit the web. Some people assumed that the two were dating and, at the time, a source told E! News that they spent “hours together” at the members-only club.

“They stayed all night and didn’t leave until the early morning. Machine Gun Kelly got the door for Demi as they walked to her waiting car,” the insider said at the time. “When they left, they didn’t say much of a goodbye because it looked like they were meeting up again. He followed her in his car close to her place and it seemed like the night would continue on from there.”

Other fans speculated that MGK’s tweet was actually referring to Noah Cyrus. A few weeks before the photos with Demi surfaced, it was rumored that the rapper was in a relationship with the youngest member of the Cyrus clan. In January 2020, Machine Gun Kelly and Noah were spotted packing on the PDA at a Grammy Awards afterparty. An onlooker told E! News, “They are holding hands and posing for photos together. They walked around party hand in hand and continued to be next to each other the entire time. It seemed like they were dating.”

Despite romance rumors, MGK’s tweet has made it seem like he might be keeping both of these relationships in the friend zone.
