We have the best news ever! Get this, you guys — Marisol Nichols just announced that she isn’t leaving Riverdale after all! Yep, fans were left heartbroken when the actress, who stars as Hermione Lodge in the CW show, revealed that she was gearing up to say goodbye to the role back in February. But now, she has confirmed that she won’t be departing after all.

“I had a very long talk with Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa — our creator and showrunner of Riverdale — and I’m really proud to announce that Hermoine will not only be back for Season 5, but she will be back stronger and better than ever,” the star told Access. “I’m really excited telling her story and that side of her. It also allows me to pursue other ventures.”

When she first announced her departure, Marisol told Deadline, “I had an incredible time bringing Hermione Lodge to life and working with my amazing cast, who became family. We had so many wonderful times together during the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We really do have the best fans ever. I am looking forward to the next chapter and am excited about the future.”

As fans know, Skeet Ulrich, who played F.P. Jones, also announced he was exiting the series.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made on Riverdale, and I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis,” the actor said in a statement. “I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind. But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities.”

I may be leaving Riverdale but my experience over the last four years will never leave my heart. A very special thanks to Roberto for giving me this opportunity.”

He later revealed in an Instagram Live that he decided to say goodbye because he was “bored creatively.”

At the time, Roberto explained that although they were leaving the show, they’re always welcome back.

“Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people,” he said. “I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years, and we all wish them well on their future endeavors. FP and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale.”
