It’s a big day in the music world as Grammy Award nominations were revealed and Shawn Mendes snagged two noms. The 20-year-old’s song “In My Blood” is nominated for Song of the Year and his self-titled record is up for Best Pop Vocal Album, a category he’s nominated alongside two of his friends, Camila Cabello and Taylor Swift. And there is another one of his famous buds who is oh so proud of him, and that’s Niall Horan.
Niall took to Twitter to congratulate his friend on the big news and he’s just nothing but happy for his boy.
Naturally, many of the 25-year-old singer’s fans were bummed he didn’t receive any noms for his debut solo album, Flicker, and felt like he was totally snubbed. But Niall made it clear he’s doing just fine and simply wants to call attention to Shawn.

HOW PRECIOUS. True BFF goals right there. And hey, who knows? Maybe Niall and Shawn will get a Grammy nomination together one day. See, the “Lost In Japan” crooner recently spoke to ET Canada and admitted that while a Niall and Shawn collab hasn’t actually happened yet, he’s confident it totally will, based on their recent hangout session.
“We started really, seriously talking about it that night [we last hung out]. It’s 100% going to happen. Niall and I talk about this pretty much every time we see each other,” Shawn said. “The truth is that we’re just really really good friends and we always really enjoy just hanging out and sometimes you don’t get a lot of time to just hang out so that’s what we want to do, but we’ll get it.”
Okay, now this is something we can all get behind! And with talks that Shawn and Camila might musically reunite for another duet as well, we’re out here expecting a lot of epic tunes from Shawn. No pressure, bro. But we’re all about this. And as for Niall not spreading all the love to his friend during this majorly exciting time in Shawn’s career, well, we expect nothing less.
