You can’t think about To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before without thinking of that iconic hot tub scene between Lara Jean and Peter. It’s one of the cutest, most romantic moments of the entire Netflix rom-com, and we can never get enough of it. Well, what if we told you that hot tub scene wasn’t so far off from reality? Turns out, the cast actually spent a ton of time chilling in a hot tub off-screen too. It just wasn’t quite as steamy as in the movie, because you know, they’re all just friends.

Noah Centineo spilled in an interview that what made filming the movie so special was being able to connect with the cast members so closely, given the fact that they were all filming together in Vancouver. And they happened to spend that time connecting in, well, a hot tub. Who would’ve thought?

“We were all displaced. Sierra Burgess is a Loser, we did in LA. And To All the Boys, we were flown to Vancouver to work. Israel Broussard and I have known each other for six years, so being able to work together professionally was one of the coolest things I’ve experienced,” Noah spilled during the BUILD Series. “One of my favorite memories of To All the Boys was the countless nights that we all spent on the rooftop of the place that we were staying in a hot tub just talking – like three, four of us.”

He added, “We would just sit in the hot tub and communicate and connect, and like I said, that’s my favorite part. So the process for getting ready for this film was very similar. I like to connect, unless I’m supposed to hate the person.”

Lana Condor actually recalled the same story in an interview, proving they really are the best of friends.

“We actually had really wonderful chemistry, and we spent so much time with each other like out of work. We went to the hot tub in our apartments and stuff – so the transition was super easy to bring that to camera,” Lana spilled in an interview with PeopleTV.

Now let us just take a moment to imagine the whole cast having nightly hot tub hangout sessions. Talk about goals!
