Get ready to say goodbye to one of the biggest YouTubers of all time. Yep, PewDiePie just revealed that he’s taking a break from the streaming site in 2020. The 30-year-old — who has over 102 million subscribers on his channel (making him the second most followed on the platform!) — made the shocking announcement in a new video posted on Saturday, December 14.

“I am taking a break from YouTube next year. I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind,” he explained. “I’m tired. I’m feeling very tired. I don’t know if you can tell. Just so you know, early next year I’ll be a way for a little while. I’ll explain that later but I wanted to give a heads up.”

The Swedish influencer’s real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, and he’s most known for uploading video game commentaries. It turns out, this isn’t the first time he’s opened up about needing a break from social media. Back in August, he hinted that he was thinking of stepping away to focus on the real world and not the internet.

“I do think it would be good for me to take a break at some point,” he said. “It would be nice to not have YouTube in my brain for the first time in 10 years.”

As fans know, the vlogger recently married his longtime girlfriend, Marzia Bisognin. The couple tied the knot in London, England back in August 2019, and fans couldn’t be happier for them. But the newlyweds revealed on December 1 that their house had unfortunately been broken into, and 90 percent of of their valuables were taken by the robber.

“Our house was broken into and they took 90 percent of my valuables — from my jewelry, to luxury goods and special items I’ve been collecting over the years. It’s all gone,” Marzia wrote on her Instagram Stories. “I know it is very materialistic and [I] should be happy with what I have left, but I can’t hide the shock and sadness with [it] all being taken away, just like that.”
